I had told Alice and Andy the night before I was going to get the breakfast from Whole Foods and coffees from 7 eleven, but it was only as I was walking down the road that I realised that if we checked out at 10, like we thought we had to (turns out it was actually 11) we would have time to do that after we had checked out, as Stephanie wasn't picking us up until 12.30, as she had her report to finish. However, because I was already awake I carried on and picked up some freshly ground peanut butter, bread rolls, ginger and chia granola, and some quinoa, and got myself a coffee as they didn't have the things you can carry more than one in.
After we checked out (and finished the conversation with the receptionist who wouldn't stop talking as he used to live in England, and was telling us you couldn't trust the 3 w's- work, women and the weather) we hung out in Starbucks for a bit, and then Stephanie took us and our bags to the Greyhound station so that we could try and pick up our tickets and store our luggage. There were no ticket printers, and no-one at the ticketing desk, so when we asked the guy who was working there, he rather grumpily said 'there's no-one here until 3pm'. When I asked about luggage storage, he replied 'there's no-one here until 3pm', which seems a bit ridiculous that you can't pick up your tickets when you want. Luckily there were lockers, but Alice's didn't close so we had to ask the guy, I'm sure he would have wanted to say 'there's no-one here until 3pm' but he did take off the panel and sort it out.
We then drove to Voodoo Doughnuts, and it was quite impressive the length of the queue, despite it pouring with rain at one point. I got a chocolate peanut butter one and Andy tried bacon and maple, and although there's an impressive range of flavours, I didn't think the dough was particularly that nice, let alone special!
Next stop was Powell's book shop which is one of the largest in the world, and we kept having to delay meeting back up as there were so many books to look at! I debated getting a Harry Potter book in Spanish, but thought I'd leave it until I have a bit more space in my backpack.
Stephanie was lagging in energy a bit as she was a bit hung over from going to the high school she works at prom, so she dropped off our stuff to us whilst we went to find somewhere to eat. It was quite expensive, so I managed to persuade Alice and Andy they wanted to get some food from Whole Foods, which I think they were grateful afterwards. Then we walked to the bus station, and watched a TV program about French cuisine with disgusting looking tripe or something similar.
After the 2 hour or so bus ride, Mick (Stephanie's brother) sent his fiancé Jamie to pick us up from Cannon Beach and take us over to their house in Manzanita. She'd made quinoa, and cabbage and tofu stew thing which was very yummy, and then a rhubarb custard thing on top of a pastry case for dessert. We had a chat, but had to go to bed before the rest as I was feeling very sleepy.
