Awoken by gongs sounding loudly at 5:30am, we rushed to our balcony to see what the fuss was all about. It was a funeral procession and at least 200 locals surrounded a wooden casket. A couple of hours later we heard people raging to techno music for a wedding. So much for us sleeping in for the first time!
Dying to get back on the open road, we rented motos for the day. We explored all of the coast around Hoi An and planted ourselves under a cabana on An Bang Beach. The setting was ideal. Live music played nearby, the beach goers were mellow and the water was perfect.
After the sun fully set we hopped back on our motos to make the scenic ride back home. We ate street food for dinner on the river's edge and spent the evening strolling Ancient Town.
