Chances were high that our boat ride to Bambu Island would be canceled. We were expecting the worst but hoping for the best. Thunder, wind and rain rattled our roof throughout the night and had not completely relented come morning. 

The long-tails were at a stand still so Bambu was not in our cards. We took this as an opportunity to have a leisurely breakfast at PP Grand. 

Given the weather, our activity options were limited. By foot we discovered new areas of the island and planted ourselves under a cabana at a resort's pool. Relaxed but antsy we made the trek to Long Beach. Hiking past secluded coves and beaches with bungalows perched along the mountains, we saw a different side of Koh Phi Phi. All afternoon we swam, snoozed on the sand, searched for coral and soaked up this jewel of a beach. 

We spent the evening dining on local fare, learning the native tongue and again going to sleep to the sounds of a tropical storm.
