Oh god! So much can happen in a few days and if you dnt get to the internet there is too much to write about!!!
Had a great time over the weekend, went on organised tours booked through our hostel... but only the two of us booked on them, so got two guides to ourselves!! Sat we went to Otavalo, a market town famous for the market (doh!) which is mainly run by the indigenous people... loads of food, fruit and crafts stalls... If it wasn{t right at the beginning of our trip we would have defo bought more, but only I bought some jewellery... Mark fancied an Alpaca rug, but he mite have found that a bit difficult to fit in the rucksack!!!
Then sunday went to papallacta, a small town famous for its natural mineral hot springs! Luckliy had the same tour guides from the day before so they showed us all the best bits... and took us for a long walk along the river first, where we got to see some rare birds and get used to stumbling through the undergrowth! Managed to see a native rabbit and randomly soe llamas turned up out of nowhere!! Then had a couple of hours to just enjoy the hot baths... Amazing!! There was also a cold plunge pool with water directly from the river which comes through the andes... Mark went in twice, so obviously I couldn{t not go in!! Was actaully the coldest thing i{ve EVER experienced and even in those three seconds i was in there you kind of lose you senses!! Was difficult negotiating the steps to get out! Then back into the hot pool and it feel like your skin is burning!!
Were then supposed to meet the tour group ystrdy, but the meeting ended up being this morning, so just walked around town ystrdy doing cultured things like going to the Quito botanical gardens! So met the group today, which is quite small to begin with, only 7 of us until Lima when 5 more will join.. Group leader really nice, and others seem nice, if not quiet at the mo... Will have to give it time before they start to annoy!! ;)
Off to the Jungle tomo morning... in a plane that seats about 20 people (!!) and should be in?a place that actaully looks like the picture above!! potential to go in a canopy swing to view the top of the rainforest... Dnt know if my fear of heights will like that!! Will also have to have blinkers on to all the spiders, but is one of the things?we have both?been looking forward to most...
Will write again soon when I can!
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
