WOW! What an amazing boyfriend I have! Although we spent my actual birthday in a car, the anticipation for the next day was just unbearable.
So the next day was finally here, my belated birthday where Ed whisked me off to a horse ranch where we met the sensational Enrique!
'ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH ENRIQUE'
After a bit of breaky and chatting with the other guests we were introduced to our horses. Ed had obviously had a quiet word with the gauchos as I got the most stunning and wonderful horse in the world....'BRUJA' was her name which means witch in spanish, she was beautiful. She was a delight to ride with such a great attitude. We rode through dried out river beds, fields, paths and meadows it was just dreamy.
Lunchtime came round and we got back to Enrique who was cooking an Assado (BBQ Argentinean Style) there was a mountain of meat and so much wine! Enrique doesnt take no for an answer so we drank and drank and ate and ate till 4pm.
We got back onto our horses (AHHH Bruja) still a little tipsy and giggly. We trundled through the land and galloped through the plains! We reached a stretch of grass where me and the other girl riding with us asked to have a RACE! The Gaucho got us ready and steady and then.......................GO! We sped off and I gained an early lead on the amazing Bruja leaving the other girl in my dust, the end of the grass came near and we turned, I lost some ground but was still a head in front. Bruja pushed through and took the race by a length and a head!!! The day drew to a close and we trotted home to Enrique! We ate a hearty dinner and slept till late morning the next day. Enrique then invited us to have another Assado on the house and suprised me with a Birthday Cake and impressive firework candle.
