After a long boring flight from SA to Mumbai we arrived in a confused state at the airport. We arrived at 1am but weren't due to book into the hotel until 7am the next morning but we decided to head there anyway and hope they'd let us in. We hopped into a taxi for the most edge-of-your-seat ride i'd ever been on - no rules, change lanes whenever or just don't stick to any lane at all and beeping constantly! Hotel let us in and we tried to get some sleep in the noisest hotel ever because of the very noisy traffic outside! Left hotel about 10.30ish, got lost, had a quick fight cos we were confused and eventually headed off to find the Gateway of India. The streets are crowded smelly and dirty (Layne saw a disguarded of pants full of sh1t!) and crossing the roads should be on the list of the worlds most dangerous activities. Took a short boat trip around the harbour with nice views of the Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal hotel. We then headed to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum which was full of cool stuff. We then decided to get the cluck out of Mumbai and went through the very complicated process of buying a train ticket to Udiapur. We've eaten some food from street stalls and had curry and still no Delhi Belly....yey!
