After a long overnight train journey where neither of us got much sleep cos it was cold and crowded and we left it a bit late to get the civilized class so we had to rough it with the locals! We arrived in Udiapur. Very nice city, much less crowded and noisey than Mumbai. We went for a tour around the magnificant palace on the lake which was featured in octop**** as was alot of the town...as a result the whole place is obsessed with the film and everywhere shows it at 7pm every day. The next day we went for a boat trip around the lake which was very nice and had good views of the town. We then went to the Monsoon Palace which is on a hill overlooking the town and also featured in Octop**** The town is a bit crazy as the streets are very narrow and people have to contest with mopeds, bikes, rickshaws, cars, cows, dogs and elephants....as well as the beggars...tho i have to say we havent been hassled as much as i thought. Layne had a very dodgy haircut indian style....which is not nice. We went to the gardens of Udiapur today and went on a random mini train ride, the locals stared at us like we were weird. I get stared at alot, i think its cos i'm obviously beautiful....layne says its just cos i'm a foreigner...i think i'm right! We've had really good and cheap meals(anywhere from 1.50- 7pounds for big portions and drinks included) so far and still no s***s....yey!
