Our first road trip begins here we left home on Tuesday morning with a bit of a plan but decided to follow the road and see where we ended up - we were heading to Adelaide up the great ocean road but beleive it or not the weather is so bad we decided it might be better to head inland instead as the coast at the moment is pretty rough and as Tom & Matt will tell you I am not to good with 'FREAK WAVES' as we have been caught out with one before. Any way here goes on our road trip decided to head towards Metung which is on the east coast out of Melbourne its about 309 km (approx 190 miles) away from Mornington - did you all know that the New Seekers song -'Rockin, Rolling Riding - Out along the waves - was written about Mornigton. Anyway Metung is a little Australian town and is a beautiful place to stay . A tiny village set in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes, with its history steeped in boats, fishing and gentle lifestyles. It's a place that gives you time to recall the simple pleasures of life, we sat and watched the Black Swans swimming on the Tasman sea a very strange sight seeing swans on the sea, also a great big pelican flew in but by the time Sian got the camera out - it had caught its fish and flew off again.
Karen W & Chris P hope you are impressed with my bird watching as well as the swans and pelicans we have seen silver crested Cockatoos, and hundreds of galahs all flying wild -Chris here is one for you to ask sharon -'What do you call a group of Emus - A mob of emus, thats another one for her vast knowledge of birds, hope you like the pictures, sadly Ang's camera broke and she desperatly wanted a picture of the huge piece of driftwood by the swans so my effort had to do. We had booked ourselves into a lovely little holiday shack in Metung and had a bit of a laugh as the sat nav sent us the wrong way at first and we ended up in hill billy land - you will see the photos of Ang in hysterics because she thought we had booked to stay in a travellers park. We eventually found our hut and had a great evening in Metung. Hope you enjoy the pictures - some absolutley awesome views.

I am pretty sure you both will still have an amazing time! See you on Sunday, love Dolores.
