Today we drove to Darwin and stopped at Adelaide River to go out on a boat to watch crocs jump. The man who drove the boat held out a stick with meat on it for the crocs to jump up and eat. The crocs are huge, especially Dominator, the King of the river. He is 5 metres long and his head would be about 1 metre. Dominator is 70 years old and has big spikes on his tail. Dominator is very dark with a tiny bit of yellowish brown on his tail. His eyes glow out of the water and his mouth is so big it could swallow me in one gulp. We saw lots of young crocodiles on the way back and fed them. They were really fast and could jump really high. We saw a cheeky lady croc that kept stealing Dominator’s food. Because it’s mating season he was being a gentleman and didn’t really mind.
Did you know that it does not matter what type of water they live in? Salt water crocs can live in fresh water, salt water and a mix. In fact they can live in ANY type of liquid.
Then we drove closer to Darwin and got to our caravan park at Howard Springs. Will and I enjoyed jumping on a jumping pillow for the afternoon.
The next day we went into the city of Darwin and went to the Wave Pool. We had lots of fun there. There were surfboards and blow up rings that we could float and surf on. We had a yummy lunch at a pub that overlooks the wave pool. We also got a free kids booklet filled with activities such as, word search, cross word and colouring-in.
In the next couple of days we sometimes relaxed and sometimes did some fun things such as we went to another free waterpark with curly slides. And we also went to Crocosaurus Cove where we saw more huge crocs and learned more about them and I got to see and hold some other reptiles.
The next night we went to Mindil Beach markets where we saw a funny and very clever magician. I brought home some new tricks. We watched abet cool band and had dinner on the beach at sunset.
I love Darwin.

Nannette and Poppy Den I can't wait for you to show us your new tricks. Dominator was being a real gentleman letting the lady croc have his dinner. He must be huge to see - I think I would be scared to go on a croc cruise....eek
