This morning we drove up Mt. Archer which has amazing views over Rockhampton and Yeppoon. In the afternoon, Chad and Nora's son and his partner came over with their gorgeous 16 month old boy, Tamehana (Maori for Thomas). We had a wonderful meal and sat around the campfire. My boys enjoyed playing in the hammock.

This morning after packing up we went for a short drive to Cape Hillsborough NP where we did a walk along a mangrove boardwalk and explored the rocks off the beautiful beaches (photo). We then went into Mackay and met Joy (WPPS crossing lady) for lunch. It was lovely for all of us to see her. This evening we are staying with Jeffs cousin, Mark(Chad) and his wife Nora . They are caretakers of the Alton Downs Polo grounds, just outside Rockhampton.

Yesterday we drove all day, mostly through sugar cane plantations and arrived late at Ball Bay camping area (we were going to stay at seaforrh campground but it was full). This morning we got up and had our coffee on the beautiful bay beach (photo). The water is shallow and the tides go out for 100's of meters.

It was still drizzling when we left Babinda and we drove down to Kurrimine beach (only about 80km south) and it has been dry all day- still cloudy but warm. The boys spent the afternoon in the Pool at the caravan park. We went for a walk along the beach at high tide (photo).

After 2 attempts, Jeff caught the rat with the rat trap (Yay). However the rain did not stop overnight and the tent continued to leak along a seam or 2, so the boys spend the night in bed with me and Jeff spent the night dodging drips on the stretcher. This morning we learnt that every year Tully and Babinda compete for the 'Golden Gumboot' award which is given to the town in Australia with the highest annual rainfall - Babinda often wins!!
