11am - Just turned off the Eyre highway to head down to Nuytsland Nature Reserve to meet Jeff's friend Rusty. Got lots of fuel, lots of food and water and a half decent map and no reception - feels like a real adventure into the unknown. Rusty said he'd come looking for us if we are not at the sand dunes by tomorrow lunch time!

We drove over 700km yesterday and crossed much of the nullabor. Jeff especially was impressed with the amount of scrub on the nullabor and the vastness is quite attractive in its own way. We camped at Madurlast night and had a pub meal. Along the nullabour we saw live emus and dingos and only saw kangaroos as roadkill. We have spent 2 nights camping on Perlubie Beach. The tide mark varies greatly so we had to camp close to the embankment to avoid getting wet at high tide. There are a few mice around and they got to the Easter chocolate last night, in the kitchen drawer - must work out how they got in! We arrived at Streaky Bay yesterday afternoon to discover the caravan park was fully booked out! We paid $4 per person to use their amenities and had our first real shower in 4 days. The water here is 80% artesian, 20% Murray. We then found a camp on Perlubie Beach (20km north). Today we are having lunch overlooking the pier at Streaky Bay (photo) - a beautiful prawn Caesar salad. Kaidan just had his hair cut at KC hairdressers.

The drive from Port Lincoln up the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula is beautiful. The magnificent coastline is very rugged south of Streaky bay. We stopped along the way to take in views such as the Woolshed Caves (photo), Talia Caves and Murphy's Haystacks.
