That concluded the London leg of the journey and it was a 6am start to meet up for our European Whirl contiki tour. A meet and greet and a couple of icebreaker activities to get to know the crew and we were off, en route to our first stop; Amsterdam! Not much more needs to be said about Amsterdam. Its a city that resembles the Tour de France, tons of people on drugs riding bicycles. Our first night out involved a browse of the most beautiful 'windows' in the world and a live sex show in the Red Light District, sinking wines whilst sitting in a theatre watching 2 people have sex on a rotating bed; only in Amsterdam. It didn't take the boys long to find a 'coffee' shop and purchase a few of the Amsterdam specials to take the edge off, a whole 3 minutes. All in all a fun first night out with the contiki group which caused a few sore heads, and a lot more pain for Joe's wallet after shouting a round of 18 Jagerbombs.
An early start the next morning to see the sights of Amsterdam and hop on the bikes to explore the windmills and cheese factories. Unsurprisingly, Jack and Doug both slept in and missed the bus (they were paying extremely short odds for that to happen). A day of sightseeing in Amsterdam, involved meeting a few San Diego girls for drinks (Louis felt love at first sight), getting lost on the trams, narrowly missing multiple car v pedestrian accidents and visiting the iAmsterdam sign. The night to follow involved a pub crawl with a shots bar and then karaoke; a lethal combination. It didn't take Louis long to get his hands on the microphone and blast out a pitch-perfect 'Summer of 69'. A late finish once again which finished off our Amsterdam visit. A bizarre but cool city, 2 days there was unreal, but I'd imagine 2 weeks there could be torture.
