When we arrived in Dalat, everyone was walking round in jeans, jumpers and jackets, but fair enough it's probably the coldest city we've been to so far.. For my 22nd we planned to be in Nha Trang to make use of the beach and to do an island cruise off the coast all day. We started off the cruise at 9am with only one way.. A beer! And that's pretty much how the cruise planned out.. Naturally Jordan told them it was my birthday and I got numerous free drinks, happy days.! Finally we eventually managed to get ourselves to the coast.. And despite the rainy forecast for the week, we only had one wet day so we made the most of the weather, stayed 7 days and rented bikes down to the beach 5 days in a row.! When we arrived everyday at the beach we were greeted by locals who said we weren't allowed to take our bikes near the beach and had to leave them with them.. For a small charge of course.. 10,000 dong (30p) How Much...!!? hmm no way...

So we've been looking forward to our next few destinations for a while as they supposed to hold some of the best beaches, when we got off our 16 hour sleeper bus... It poured it down! Never before have I seen the rain outside and decided swim shorts and flip flops are best course of action.. It turns out Central Vietnam often get half their yearly rain fall in November. Fantastic! Sure enough it rained for 3 days straight.

Halong bay 3 day cruise has been a highlight of the trip. 3 days spent cruising round hundreds of small islands, kayaking and caving taking in some amazing sights. We happened to spend Halloween on the cruise and ended up playing ring off fire.. Unfortunately I pulled a card which meant I had to swap clothes with a 5ft Asian girl called Teresa..
