Kya Travels
We woke up today to a very rocky boat! I got up to find we were already docked in our next destination, Makarska. I hung out on the dock with a few people in the beautiful sunshine, looking at the town, which had some huge beautiful mountains behind it, that were so amazing that they actually looked photoshopped in! Crazy! I went down to wake Darren, who was already up and getting ready, then we went up to the deck for some yummy lunch. After we ate, we walked with Eilleen and Mel around the marina and went to check out the statue of St. Peter that was at the end of a small peninsula. They had a fence full of padlocks there too, which if you were going to be doing that whole thing would probably be a good place to do it, as you'd almost be certain they wouldn't be chopped off, as there weren't that many there, and heaps of them were really old! The mountains looked even prettier from this side of the marina too! We walked down a bunch of stairs going down the side of the cliff and found a cave with an abandoned bar inside! It was kind of creepy and cool, and looked like they'd had one hell of a closing down party! There was glass and bottles everywhere, and the whole place was just a mess! But it was pretty cool! Imagine having a bar in a cave! After that we headed back towards town and walked through some markets and down to the beach. The sun was out, but the wind was crazily strong and cold! One of the guys, Aidan, braved the cold and jumped in but the rest of us were not keen! We sat in the sun at a restaurant on the waterfront, where the waves came right up pretty much to our feet! It was beautiful! We stayed there for a few hours just hanging out in the sun, drinking coffee and enjoying the amazing views of sea and mountains. I had a quick Skype with Tiana, then blissed out listening to Brand New and the sound of the waves. Eventually we decided it was time to go, and we (it was only us and Eilleen by this time) walked down the street a bit and stopped at another restaurant called Café Oz, where we got another seat in the sun, and got a snack. Our 'snack' ended up being huge though! A small pizza the size of a large, and twice as many chips as we'd ordered! After that we went back to the boat and went up to the top deck for even more sun. After a little while the sun went behind a mountain, and all of a sudden it was freezing, so we went down to the room where we had a shower and a snooze, then got woken by Eilleen saying everyone was ready to go out for dinner. So we got ready and went out to the restaurant, which was an extremely fancy place, with prices to match! We decided we'd just have a drink there, then go back to the restaurant we were at earlier for dinner. We got given a free shot and had a beer there and watched Mel eat what was apparently the most amazing steak ever, then the four of us walked back to Café Oz where we got another beer and some chimichangas! They weren't as good as other ones we've had, but still really yummy. We chilled there a while using the wifi before heading back to the boat. We had another beer there, and I beat Darren in a game of chess, while everyone around us were getting a bit drunk, then we decided to head down to bed.
