Kya Travels
I woke up today with a crazy hangover, then kept sleeping on and off until lunch time. When I got up for lunch, we were already docked in Korcula and I had apparently missed a whole stop, where some people had gone for a walk through a small village. I didn't mind though, because it was rainy, cold and miserable! I sat down for lunch and struggled through about a third of my food, before heading back to bed for another snooze and leaving Darren to play a game of chess against Ziljko, the bar man. When I got up a few hours later I was feeling a lot better and when I got up we went for a walk into town with Eilleen and Mel. It was about a ten minute walk from where we were docked into the old town, then we walked down to the beach for a look before walking round the streets. We looked at a market where I got what I think may be my first souvenir of the holiday, a little homemade wooden seahorse magnet, then we kept walking around. There were lots more beautiful little streets and we looked through some souvenir shops, jewellery shops and even a Marco Polo shop! Apparently this town claims to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. We looked through some really old small churches, and took some photos copying statues, which is always fun! As we walked out of the old town and down some pretty stairs, we saw the majority of the others sitting at a cafe and enjoying the sun that had finally come out. We started to walk back towards the boat and stopped at a restaurant called BBQ Loco where we would be going for dinner, and discovered they would only be serving pizza, (and not the Mexican we'd been promised!) as it was end of season and they didn't want to stock up with more food! We were a little bit peckish, so we thought we'd share a pizza to keep us going until dinner time, so we ordered a cup of tea and two pizzas and the girls ordered a beer. I ended up having the whole vegetarian one, as Eilleen wasn't hungry yet, so I don't think I'll be having dinner later!! Tiarni joined us for a while, if only to use the restaurants wifi, then we walked back to the boat where we chilled out for a while and Darren had a snooze while I read a book on the iPad for a bit. When we eventually got up, everyone was already back from dinner, and playing card games and drinking massive cocktails on the deck, and everyone seemed quite a bit drunk! After a little while everyone left to walk up to the bar in town, and we were walking with Jess and Katie. Katie was so drunk, and was being held up between me and Jess, but still managed to stagger all over the road as we were walking! She was very funny though! We got to the bar, and were given a free shot of something from Janice, then went inside, where they had a stripper pole set up on the dance floor! Most people were drunk enough by that stage that they were up there having a go pretty quickly! I wasn't drinking, and it was very smokey in there, so I ended up going back out the front. Then I realized there was a massive screen being projected onto the building opposite of a live view of the dance floor! So we could watch everyone going crazy in there without having to be in there! It was very funny watching people coming out one by one and realising that people had been watching them the whole time! Darren and I chilled out there with Jess, took some videos of the video and Darren went inside a few times to get people to do stupid things for the camera, without knowing it! That amused us for a while! Eventually it was getting too cold out there, and we were all a bit hungry, so the three of us went for a walk to see if we could find some food. It was like a ghost town. Everything was closed! It was literally the last day of the season, as we were the last boat that would be passing through, so everyone had closed up shop! We stopped at a few bars just in case, but nobody had food, and nobody even had hot drinks! Crazy. After walking through town for a while, we went back to the bar for a very short time, Darren got a few more free drinks from Janice and from the French Canadian girls who had snuck in some gin, then we walked home with Jess and Rachel. When we got back to the boat, we hung on the deck chatting for a while, then Mel got back and Rachel went to bed. We stayed up chatting and listening to music, and Mel found a bottle of wine in her room that we shared. It was the worst wine I've ever tried, there must have been something wrong with it! It was so bad!! After chatting for a while longer, Sam got back. But half his shorts didn't! Apparently while he was shaking it on the stripper pole, he ripped his shorts in half in front of everyone. And he wasn't wearing any underwear... So everyone in the bar really did get a stripper show! He hung out with us for a while as we listened to music and had a chat for a while longer, D&M'ing a little bit, before heading down to bed.
