Today we decided to go up to a temple in the hills called Wat Doi Suthep. A tuk tuk drove us to a bus station where a little bus was stuffed with 14 people and then transported us up a very steep and winding hill. When we got to the temple we had to climb over 300 steps to reach the main building. Today was the day of our elephant trip which we were both very excited about. We we're picked up from our guesthouse by a minibus and on board were 8 other people, 2 Australians, 2 Americans and 4 Brits. During the taxi ride from the airport you could tell straight away how different Chiangmai was from Bangkok. Everywhere you look there are temples and old buildings and the whole old town is surrounded by an old ruined brick wall.
