Hello Everyone!
I just spent a wonderful weekend in Edinburgh, Scotland. Edinburgh is an absolutely beautiful city. One of my favorite cities so far! We started out on the Royal Mile and went to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which is where the Queen stays when she comes to Scotland. Next, we did a little shopping and then went to the St. Giles Cathedral. We stopped in to see, but didn't stay for very long. We then went to the Edinburgh Castle to hear the canon gun go off. On our way, however, we were able to hear some bagpipes. When we arrived at the castle, we heard the guns, and looked around. I saw the Scottish Crown Jewels, which were very cool and had a neat story behind them. We did some more shopping and then went out to dinner at an Italian Restaurant. It was the best meal I've had so far. Then we went back to the hotel, and enjoyed a nice, quiet evening. We ate some ice cream, and watched a movie.
On Sunday, we got up early and went sightseeing on our way back to school. Our first stop was at a place called Hadrian's Wall. This wall was built by the Roman to keep the Scottish Barbarians out. At one point it stretched accross Britian. Very cool to see. Then after a couple hours, we stopped in Durham for lunch. Durham had a cathedral and a castle, which I saw from a distance but didn't go in. We didn't much time to visit the sights. Then we were on our way home! It was a great trip and one I will remember for a while!
