Didn't get as much sleep as we liked last night. Visiting with family and excitement (or anxiety?) took care of that. After an earlier wake up than I think anyone really wanted, sorry mom and dad Phillips, we headed out to finish a few errands. Said our goodbyes to Jaimie and Tyson, and after a quick breakie break with said early rising parents, headed towards downtown. One final stop to pick up some Euros for an upcoming cruise, and we arrived at the port at a little past 11am. Wasn't as busy as I expected.
Had the van unloaded by about 11:15 (whew, lugguge is heavy, glad they deal with it and deliver it to your room) we exchanged hugs and goodbyes with Ron and Heather. Thanks again for bringing us in. Breezed through security with no line ups there, and got to our check in at exactly our scheduled time at 11:30 am. A couple of minutes later, we were waiting with a large room of other people for them to start the boarding call. Since we had a few minutes, we got in the lineup to get a picture taken with Minnie Mouse. She had something really funny to say, but I now can't remember what it was....it'll come to me, but as you can see in the pictures, we were all laughing. =)
We got the call to board not long after that, and before you knew it, we were being announced as we boarded the ship...."Disney Wonder is happy to welcome....Kim and Stacey!" Balloons fell from the ceiling, with confetti and streamers rained down from hidden crevices, crew members ran up crying to hug us and welcome us back. It had been so long!
Well, maybe not all of that. They DID announce us. We being shy and humble Canadians, simply gave an embarrassed smile, locked our gaze to the floor and moved forward towards what we thought would be the nearest escape. Off to Guest Services.
Now if we were better organized, we wouldn't have had to go to guest services 3 times within about 40 minutes. Getting my exercise. Room is at the back of the ship, guest services closer to the front, 3 levels below. Starting to regret that promise not to take an elevator this trip. Feel the burn! But, after all those trips, we had tickets for a mixology lesson (mixing alcohol in hopefully non disgusting variations), a meet and greet with Anna and Elsa from Frozen, and another meet with the princesses. Stacey is smiling. Picture frame is set to get autographed, cpap machine has an extension cord and distilled water. We're good to go.
Wandered before grabbing a quick bite at the Beach Blanket Buffet, yummy, and headed to our room a little after 2pm to find that our room was ready and all but one piece of our extensive luggage collection had arrived and was sitting outside our door. Sadly, the one missing was mine, which meant Stacey got dibs on all the prime drawer real estate.
She's laughing beside me as I'm typing this trying to deny it, but .....she admits that it's true.
Took a while to unpack. My last suitcase arrived and gets put away, and it's time for the emergency drill. We've done this before, so it's not unexpected. How to put your life jacket on, where to go, what to do. It's required by law that everyone attend. Fifteen minutes later, we're done and wandering looking for what to do. Ooo....hurry, we're moving and almost to the Lions Gate Bridge. Wave to pedestrians watching and waving back from the bridge deck. What started as a cloudy day has cleared up as we pull out of the harbour. It is stunning!
Went to catch the juggling comedian, who was quite entertaining, and check out the gift shops before heading back to the room to change out of early morning clothes to dinner wear. I did anyway. Stacey started the day looking fabulous and didn't have to change. You're welcome!
Dinner at 8:15 pm (second seating requested) was excellent. They took Stacey's food allergies in stride and decided that it would be easier for them and us to preorder tomorrows breakfast and dinner ahead of time, so she did. Will be off the ship tomorrow, and miss lunch on the ship while we are in Victoria.
Tired now, so gonna wind this down. Short stop in Victoria tomorrow so don't know if we will find time or free wifi in time to update the blog. Just using a free opening day 50mb special for ship internet to post this now.
We will try to keep track of what we do and blog / post it when we get a chance, but it may not happen until we get to San Diego on Sept. 12.
Good night everyone. WYWH! (wish you were here, for those who would lose sleep trying to figure it out)

Naomi Keep the blogs coming. Love it. We get to travel with you both, on my kind of budget. What could be better? Well, okay, being there would be better. :) So happy for you guys. Enjoy. Love you, miss you and hugs.
Kim Dress code is cruise is cruise casual. No bathing suits, flip flops, etc for main dinner dining rooms. Buffets on the top deck is more casual. Certain nights are designated "formal" nights, only a few of those, a pirate dress up night, the odd optional formal night, otherwise cruise casual, collared shirt and pants for guys.
