I think this part of Australia was made just for me (Toni)! First of all there was Newman Court in Fremantle, then just a few kilometres away is Scarborough with the beautiful Scarborough beach. We spent a few days in Scarborough soaking up the rays and spotting the street names around that are the same as Scarborough at home. There was Edgehill street (wasn't rough as home!), Westborough street and a few others as well. The person who first settled here was from Scarborough UK but don't know anything else about him/her. We then came back to Fremantle which is a fab place. Full of markets and street cafe's and art shops. Had a day trip to neaby Rottnest Island which was stunning. Saw the resident animals only found on that island and a few places in South WA. They're called Quokkas, and look a bit like a cross between a big rat and a small roo, as they have pouches and hop. Explored the island on a hop on hop off bus and saw loads of dolphins playing with a surfer (about 10-15 of them). Have spent the last few days looking around fremantle, including taking a tour of the old prison, which looked just like HMP Durham to us! An old Victorian building. We're going out today for a few drinks before the Man u vs. Liverpool game, which is always a big day in the Krys/Toni household. May the best team (man u) win. It's gonna be on at about 9pm here I think so good for a night out. We fly to Melbourne tomorrow and I'm very excited as going to a neighbours night where you get to meet some of the cast in a local pub. I'm hoping for Karl Kennedy and Harold, but trying not to get my hopes up as it will probably be the new family that have just come into it who I don't really know! Krys is pretending he's not that fussed but can tell he's excited inside! We're hopefully staying with a guy who's registered on a website I found as someone who will let travellers stay for free for a few days which should be good. Hoping he's OK, as I'm sure he is us!
