We have arrived in Managua! We had a slight delay taking off due to a passenger seating issue but they finally solved the dilemma. This lady that had boarded the plane lost her travel companions. The airlines located the lost passengers and they finally boarded the plane! All of the patient and polite passengers cheered with a loud ovation as the lost guests boarded the plane. It was a sweet reunion! LOL!
I am brushing up on my Spanish as a lot of the flight instructions were in Spanish! ;) lol!
When we landed, we were greeted by the beautiful smiles of Jack & Claire Till and the mission team! I was soooooo glad to see them! On our way to our lodging accommodations we had an eventful ride I must say! Red lights and stop signs mean absolutely NOTHING! And....there are no speed limits! Really!
During the drive, we passed by many homes and witnessed their living conditions. It broke my heart to see little small children just walking around on the roads everywhere that late at night and many of them were bare footed. This is a totally different world.
We had a heart wrenching visit with the precious orphans today at Hogar Agape Children's Home. Upon our arrival, one little boy by the name of Michael ran up to Scott and started rubbing his head! It was so cute that he was so intrigued by his bald head! Lol!
Tonight, we attended a Pizza Party and we had a ball! Their smiles are contagious and their unconditional love spreads like wildfire. My heart is overwhelmed by so many emotions right now. I am trying to imagine life in their shoes. Each child has a special story and I can't wait to hear each one and get to know each one personally. One of the children was dropped off on the doorstep of the orphanage. It is just so hard to comprehend. Their faces and smiles light up the world, my world.
Tomorrow, we will be having fellowship with the precious widows. I am so excited to spend the day with them! This is such an amazing trip so far even if I was a little scared initially. God's perfect love casts out all fear. I am so grateful that He turns our fear into faith and I am honored to be here in Nicaragua! Looking forward to an incredible day tomorrow!
