A few quick stops with the Chefs!
The inaugural chefs on tour trip began with a quick visit to Paris to do some of the key sites. Visited the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Champs Elyssées. After dinner we packed the van and headed out of the city to stay with a friend of Antoine.
Day two took us on a long road to the Alps. We made a quick stop in Lyon for lunch, a little touring, and to pick up Sean (who booked his flight on the wrong day) and then hit the road again. We arrived in Meribel late in the afternoon and took some time to tour the village and Olympic park before we played our first game. It was a long game but we had an awesome reception afterwards with the team. Lots of beer, wine, cheese, and bread.
Next we headed to Annecy for some touring and another game. Antoine’s in-laws live here so they received us in tru French style with beers and champagne. We toured around the city for the afternoon and rented a boat to cruise around the lake. Laura and I jumped in for a quick dip but it really wasn’t warm enough to stay for long. The game that night was a tough one. We were feeling the jet lag and the 20 minute periods by the end. After we had dinner at a cool disco-tiki hybrid bar before we hit the long road overnight to Caen.
The first half of the Chefs tour was a blast!
