Sorry for the delay in posting! Here's the deal. Niki wanted to post day one of Prague and since she is the one who speaks more then two sentences and some random words of Slovak she has hardly had 5 minutes to herself since we got here. So she has a half typed blog entry that we are all getting impatient to read.
So I gave up on waiting. I posted day two of Prauge, the night we returned and the day following Prague and this entry. I will post day one when it is ready. So sorry for the delay and things getting out of order.
So please go back and read from the last blog you read for a somewhat chronological timeframe.
Today was our last full day here in Slovakia. Tomorrow we will be leaving here at 11am to get to Vienna for our 330 pm flight to Cairo. If all goes well a driver should be waiting for us from our classy hostel (for real it is a nice one!)
Today we woke up early and had a quick breakfast and showers and set out with Babi for groceries. On the walk to the grocery store we met up with Dedo who was on his way back from town where he goes every morning to get his Czech newspaper. Niki thought it was a good time to capture some video footage and she was right. We have video now of Dedo walking slowly with his two canes and him and Babi starting to argue about who knows what little pointless thing and then Dedo from the back making his way home. It was a funny moment and totally captured the life they have here.
We stocked up on snacks for tomorrow and all the last minute cheese we can handle.
We came back here and waited for Jirko (Niki's uncle on her moms side) he came and we went for lunch down the street. The food was amazing and cheap and the portions were so big I would almost say too big!
We came back to the apartment and hung out for awhile then Jirko drove us downtown.
From here we set foot to cobblestone and went into "staré mesto" aka Bratislava old town. It is a small version of the nice old areas of Vienna and Prague. But small or not I still love it.
After walking around for a bit we walked to Vlčkova for our last visit of this trip. We visited with Babi, Olga, Jurai, and Janetta then Suzka showed up for awhile. It was a nice evening. We said goodbye to Olga, Vlado, Sashka, and Babi and Jurai drove us back to Rača. We hung out with Babi for awhile and I packed up most of my things.
It was sad to say good bye. This part of the trip went by so fast and I have been so spoiled by everyone! Hopefully hiking with my backpack sheds the lovely added pounds I found in Slovakia through tons of great food and drinks.
Post again soon I promise! I am pretty sure we have wifi in our hostel in egypt so you should hear from us from there!
