I'm in Malaysia now.
Not much has happened.. Karina was struck down with some food poisoning on Sunday so I have been looking after her. While she has been recovering from her illness and her jetlag I have managed to wander about :P
On Monday I had a mad craving for a Zinger burger and went on search for a KFC in Singapore (lol at Western food cravings). I was walking through Clarke Quay (Singapore) and was adamant that I had passed one there the night before. I took a few turns here and there and passed this group of girls. As I moved closer to these girls I turned around and quickly grabbed my arm!
She uttered a few words that I didnt hear although...... upon hearing her voice a warning bell began to sound. I looked at her face. Squinted. Looked down at her chest... looked at her face again. Squinted.
Me: Err.... I am going to McDonalds
Ladyboy: *Blank face*
LADYBOY. I am 90% sure that it was ladyboy. Ughhhh.... I swear that is some scary s***. If I didnt have this sixth sense I would have been truly tricked and quite possibly taken up the bum by IT. :P But lucky for you all I am still in one piece.
On Tuesday we checked out of the Robertson Quay Hotel and made our way to the Golden Mile complex. Bought a bus ticket direct to Kuala Lumpur for S27 each (pretty good considering the competing bus company a few stores down tried to rip us off at S60 each!). A five and a half hour bus ride which was made longer seeing that we didnt have enough time to get any malaysian ringgit. No currency. No food.
Once we got into KL ... ZINGER BURGER. Hahahah. They use different chicken here. The verdict: Australian Zinger Burgers are better. I'll let you know what they are like in Thailand ;) Although.. the Zinger Burgers here are kinda cheap... 6RM = AUD2.20 Hehe. Karina stomach should have recovered by today so we'll venture out into the wild yellow (oh I'm so racist ! hahaha) yonder and have some authentic Asian food.
There are some photos of us in Singapore (Chinatown and Chinese New Year decorations). I'll have them uploaded sometime soon. Tonight is Thaipusam... which should be amazing. A Hindu celebratory festival which sees thousands of Hindus perform extraordinary bodily feats in a procession from Kuala Lumpur to the mystical Batu Caves. ;)
So yeah... tonight it will be .. Man vs Caves (a little joke for all you Man vs Wild/Bear Grylls fans).
Wooooo.
A quick side note: South East Asians love their 80s music. Hahahaha. YMCA is playing in the background as I type this.
I must get up and dance in my new Nike Air Max... 120RM :P (I now realise I could have haggled this down much much further .. originally they were 140RM.. oh well!)
Talk to ya'll soon.
