Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Ahh- arrived at Scuba Junkies and it's already awesome. There's a guy here from Livingston that actually knows where Hallyards Farm is and I'm totally loving his accent, miss Scottish people so much! He's even got ginger hair! Turns out he lectured me in a Chemistry course at Kings Buildings I went to a couple of years ago- small small world. Can't wait to see fellow Scott Kirsty either, when I go travelling Vietnam with her in a couple of weeks!
Georgie and I have decided to try the "Advanced Padi Diving Course", which would allow us to do loadsa different dives- like nature dives, deep dives, drift dives, photography dives, cavern dives, navigation dives- sounds coool. We're gona try it out tomorrow and if our ears hold up, we'll continue on Saturday but if we feel a bit dodgie after tomorrow, we're just gona change the plan to short fun dives. So excited- we're 100% gaurenteed turtles and at least 1 shark, so fingers crossed we'll see some hammer heads!
This morning I didn't have a class and this afternoon I showed 3A a DVD of Ardtoe that mum sent out. Also let them flick through my scrap book and check out my photos I took on the mountain. I left pretty sharp to meet Georgie in KK, then head to the airport to catch our flight to Tawau. Mr Soo was a ledge yet again- had a wee natter in the taxi with him today, which is a bit rare.
Flight lasted like 2 minutes (well 40)- we flew over Mt Kinabalu though, which brought back some pretty painful, yet awesome memories. Our taxi to Semporna actually took longer than the flight, which was quite amusin. Once we arrived, we randomly met up with the same group of people we met at the mountain- rockin. They've been here for a couple of days- so obviously didn't feel the amount of pain we did after the climb.
There's a really cute dog that looks a bit like Holly, but with long white hair- she's the "Scuba Shop Dog" so I've been told. Hada yummy dinner and was force fed a few beers. In some weird and wonderful way- everyone chillin out in the dive shop, drinkin beer and talking in Scottish accents, made me think of T in the Park.
So looking forward to tomorrow. Not only are we gona get some great dives, but there's free coffee and doughnuts for breakfast! Score!!
