Well I am happy to report Lazaro and I made it to Germany and have since arrived to Austria. Yesterday, we had three trains to catch, we made two out of the three ( our second train was late arriving to third station, and therefore our third train was leaving as we arrived.) We called Kiana and Jason, and Jason drove the 30 minutes to the station to pick us up. Several lessons were learned, but our spirits remained high.
This morning we got up and got on the road for southern Germany as we headed for Austria. We stopped at Ludwig's castle and walked around. Then drove the rest of the way to Salzburg, Austria. So far, this has been my favorite city. I can't wait to explore it tomorrow. At one point tonight we were out walking and stopped and asked for directions. The man in halting English replied, the place you are looking for in on the other side of the mountain. We are in downtown Salzburg, surrounded by buildings. We thanked the man, and Jason replied once the man was out of earshot, that mountain must mean tall building. We all agreed, until Lazaro and I looked up and immediately saw the side of the mountain...this city is definitely full of surprises.
