The travel adventures of K and Oso
As Lazaro and I, began our journey from the ferry port to downtown Amsterdam, the bus driver said, "when you arrive downtown, watch out for the bicycles because they won't stop for anything." Lazaro and I thought that this warning was a little drastic, until we arrived at Centraal Station. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. There were cars whirling past sharing the road with buses and electric trams, bikers splitting half the sidewalk with pedestrians. The bicyclists even have their own traffic signals. I can't say that we did not have any near misses, but i will say, we look three times before crossing the road.
It is really cool to see how the Dutch have embraced this mode of transportation.
