Pyramids of GIZA! Well since I was a little girl I have dreamt of visiting the pyramids. And they were definitely worth the wait. I don't think I have ever been to anything so old… How these were built, no one really knows how but they were built well for they are still up 4500 years later. The largest was built by the granddaddy, middle one - the father and the smallest - the son all of the same ruling family at the time each ruled. The Largest took only 35 years to build… Still wow! We also visited the step pyramid of Zoser, which is a unique pyramid from the old kingdom and is called the step pyramid because the king wanted it bigger and it was built up in steps! The sphinx is amazing, the body of a lion and head of a man/king (minus the nose); it was carved out of a single piece of stone and was completed buried. We visited a local perfume/fragrance shop where we learnt how he made them, this guy was soo good, even I bought perfume off him! After this day we caught an over night train to Aswan and we had our own cabin! Sooo cool!
