Hi, what a crazy week we have had. After spending 3 days in Darwin, (water slides, Mindil beach markets, holding baby crocs) we headed down to magical Kakadu. Sunset cruise in Coroboree billabong, spotting crocs, and birds. The next day discovering Ubir and watching the sunset over Arnhem Land. The following day off to Cooinda and we experienced an amazing tour with a traditional aboriginal woman, who showed us how and where to find "bush tucker". Later that day ...

G'day mate, yes we have arrived in hot and dry Darwin. We are well into day two of our stay at our camp site and we head off tomorrow for Kakadu. So far this camping feels pretty ok but I have noticed many signs warning us "due to unusual weather conditions" beware of SNAKES!!! Oh boy, the fun has just begun. Stay tuned for more up dates.

Arrived in Darwin yesterday and set up camp about 15 minutes away from Darwin CBD. Went to the Mindil markets last night which was great with loads of different food to choose from and some interesting stalls. Sunset over the beach was spectacular aided by burning off in Kakadu National Park. This morning we were off to Corroboree billabong for day off Barra fishing with a guide. The Billabong is spectacular and covers about 50kms and is in fact larger than Yello...

We had a great day in Katherine yesterday. Stayed at Katherine Gorge last night which is like a resort for a campground with swimming pool and bar! Up at 6am this morning for a cruise up the Gorge to see spectacular sunrise That turned the rock walls ochre red. We also spotted our first crocs of the trip. We will arrive in Darwin later today

Arrived at Mataranka today after a solid 740km drive. The township has a population of 250 and sits on the upper reaches of the Roper River. The area was made famous by the novel "We of the Never Never" - written in 1908. We have set up camp next to the thermal pools at Bitter Springs and they are crystal clear and very inviting! We will take another dip tomorrow morning before heading to Katherine Gorge.
