Hi Everyone

After arriving in Mooloolaba on Sunday, we checked into our hostel which was quite a cool place but the kitchens were a right state! we were only staying one night and it was only a small town so we went for a wonder down to the beach and around the shops (we couldn't afford to buy anything though.) We grabbed a buy one get one free dominos pizza on the way home as the kitchens were unusible!
We planned to go to the beach on Monday mornign but it was lashing down when we woke up so we sat in and watched a film instead. We also checked the situation at our next stop, Hervey Bay, as there was a cyclone making it's way down the coast. Luckily the bus stop had a shelter as it was still rainning and our bus ended up being an hour and twenty minutes late! Afterarriving at Hervey Bay pretty late, we found out that our self drive safari on Fraser Island was cancelled due to the cyclone which was gutting! We chatted to some girls in our room who had been evacuated from the island the day before.
Tuesday morning we tried to sort out a refund for our trip but they only gave us a letter and told us to claim on our insurance - what a cheek!! They had taken our money and had not spent it on the services we bought, they just wanted to keep the cash - Not happy! We changed our plans to go to Rockhampton for a few days instead. There wasn't any point in sticking around Hervey Bay as the weather was crap and everything was shut. We got to Rockhampton pretty late.
There isn't alot to do in Rocky so yesterday we slept in and we went for breakfast/lunch when one of the staff (sweet little lady called Robbie, also known as mum around the place) gave us a massive pot of home made stew - yum! we hire dout some bikes in the afternoon (they were death traps, you had to brake by cycling backwards!) We cycled to the Tropic of Capricorn line and then to the botanical gardens were we took a free tour which was actually pretty interesting before heading back.
Today we slept late again and wondered down to a local shopping centre for a look around. The weather has been pretty poor so we just watched a film this afternnon. We have got an overnight bus to Airlie Beach later so hopefully the weather will be better there.
