First stop today was Mission Beach, miles of golden sand and palm trees - stunning.
We then headed onwards and tried to see Wallaman Falls (Australias biggest waterfall) but were thwarted by the gravel road which would have made our insurance invalid - bah! So we headed intstead into mountainous Paluma National Park to see stunning views and to swim in Crystal Creek under the waterfall. Phil pretended to be eaten by a shark much to the concern of a watching passer-by!
We continue to search for the evasive Cassowary. This bird is the size of an ostrich with a blue head and a weird round crest. It is a vicious creature that can gut you with its sharp middle claw. Mark was told about this bird in Africa by our American friend Jordan and has since been terrified of the prospect of meeting one. However now we're here there are none in sight and we are starting to think they are a myth dreamed up by the locals to scare the tourists. Kim wants to go on an expedition to find one...
