Yichang, our home for one night after finishing our stunning Yangzi cruise, didn't seem to have much going for it at all...apart from we were staying in the Pinghu Hotel (sadly no statues of Pingu in the lobby!). We spent the afternoon in McDonalds ( I know - sad!) and catching up with emails and then headed off for dinner. Robin ate a roosters head complete with crest while those with more normal tastes dined on catfish and prawns. We all moaned about the extortionate cost of the food...til we worked out that it only cost 5 quid per person (including beer) - we've turned into cheapskates!

After dinner we went for a stroll in the park to watch hundreds of chinese people joining in with ballroom dancing, aerobics and salsa classes. Kim wishes the UK would introduce this....she'd definitely go along for free dance classes...the government could solve the obesity problem in one fell swoop...how about it Gordon?????
