Our boat on the Yangzi River was named the M.S. Fortune.... or Msfortune as someone cheerfully pointed out - good name for a boat 'Misfortune'!!!
The boat was surprisingly nice with all meals included, nice cabins and a bar! Our first night before setting sail we headed off for hotpot though this time it was very spicy and as we were sitting at the 'adventurous' table our dipping ingredients included cows stomach, congealed chicken blood, sheep intestines and cows throat. We tried it all!!! Funniest quote of the evening was Mark saying "where's all the intestine gone - I can't find any...?' as he trawled the hotpot with his ladle.
Our three days on the boat included sailing through the beautiful Three Gorges, a visit to the Dam Project and a trip down a smaller waterway in a wooden boat. We also had a trip to a very weird temple with scenes of torture, tales of ghosts and statues of the King of the Underworld and women breast-feeding deer (!?) Another highlight was playing musical chairs and watching Robin strutting his stuff on the dancefloor while Germans looked on amazed at his gyrating body!
