Crossing the border into Botswana was more interesting than other border crossings - involving a chaotic ferry port which we were warned was a haven for pick pockets. Clutching our belongings possesively and glancing suspiciously from side to side we made it into the country without being apprehended for looking suspicious! We stayed in a nice campsite overlooking the river and surrounded by electric fences to keep the hippos out - although we later found out that the day after we left the fence had not been able to keep out a mad elephant who had rampaged through camp leaving terrified campers quaking in their tents or running for cover! We're a little sorry we missed the excitement....
Kisane is located on the edge of Chobe National Park and we went out on both a game drive and a sunset cruise in the park. The cruise was amazing - hundreds of elephants had come down to the river to drink and we also saw crocs, hippos and monitor lizards together with the most amazing sunset...
