Hey guys, we made it to Vietnam and oh my gosh what a a culture shock. This is the first time everyone around us is not speaking English and the the traffic and noise is something else. Our hotel, which is nice, is near the Old Quarter so the first afternoon we went wandering, with the worst map in the world, and I think we were both going to cry as we dodged electric cables hanging at shoulder level and tried crossing roads with more mopeds on than I even knew had been made. We eventually found the lake we had been heading for, purchased a good, coloured map, had a beer and we decided to face Hanoi head on. It worked the next day we confidently heading out visiting various temples, pagodas, musuems and local life. We also became dap hands at ordering from menus knowing that what we were going to receive was going to be completely different from what we had anticipated. Harry was not happy. It's far to say Hanoi was our biggest test yet but we survived and did get accustomed to the crazyiness of this city.
