After an evening of dancing and about an hour of sleep, by kindly cousin Michael delivered me to the airport at 5:15AM for a day of hopping from Des Moines to Chicago to Miami and the 5.5 hour last leg to Lima. Highlights were seeing Cuba from 95k feet, chatty missionaries, the amazing carpet of lights that is Lima from the air (9 million people!) and the driver Juan's smiling face to greet me at the end of my journey. He was very kind to me about my broken Spanish. After a nervewracking drive through the party district on a Sat night, I'm at my hotel to sleep for a whole 5 hours and then back to the air again to hop over to Cuzco. Only two days until I see Machu Picchu! Squeee!
