Kevin and Joannie on tour
A cloudy start to the day. There was rain in the air and it was unexpectedly cold.
We had an early breakfast and headed out to the track. We arrived in time for FP3. There was damp in the air but not enough to warrant the drivers using inters.
We could see David Coulthard and Steve Jones doing the Channel 4 coverage, as well as spotting Jackie Stewart and Gerthard Berger. Sometimes the drivers come out of the garage to wave to their fans, but not here.
After Quali, we decided to avoid the crowds and watch the Canadian Formula 1600 race. The cars were tiny and looked as if they could be peddle cars but when they went past us they were fast enough! There seemed to be two races in one and when some of the drivers took off their helmets on the podium, let's say, they weren't spring chickens!
We had meant to see more of Montreal this time but it's quite a long walk in to our grandstand and by the time we got back, we were tired (but happy). So it was a home made pizza on the balcony and an early bed.
