Hi all

We have arrived in Rome after a very exciting trip from Milan on a train that could do 300km per hour!! It didn't feel like it on the inside of the train.Wish there were trains like this in Sydney. The station was a fair distance from our hotel so we took a taxi. Italian roads are chaotic. We were nearly side swiped, which produced a tirade in Italian from ou driver, non of which we could understand, but we certainly got the general idea. We arrived at our hotel to find that it is about 500m up the road from the Colloseum and lots of other ancient archaeology. We had dinner at Subway ( I know not very Italian) and then went for a walk around the Colloseum area. Tomorrow the rest of the people taking the land tour will arrive.
