Ken Price's Travels
First, we caught a subway train to Kyoto Station and spent the morning exploring the area around the station. We discovered the Kyoto Station building which has a huge atrium and a set of escalators which you can ride way, way up to a viewing deck with views the city.
After lunch, we met our guide and travelled from Kyoto to Nara by bus, where we visited Todaiji Temple, the largest wooden structure in the world and home of the Great Buddha, the largest Buddha statue in Japan. We mingle with the many deer at Nara Park, and proceeded to Kasuga Shrine, Nara's most famous shrine.
