Kennington to Cape Town
8 January 2006
We have just logged on at an internet café and are absolutely over the moon to see the amount of money you have all helped raise for the Amani Children's Home (see our fundraising website at:
www.justgiving.com/kenningtontocapetown). We set ourselves the target of £2500, knowing that this would be such a significant amount of money for the charity - and have now beaten the target and raised just over £2800 ! This is amazing and we feel proud and humbled that our trip has encouraged people to be so generous. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated - it really will make such a difference to the children at Amani. We will be visiting the home in the last week of January and will update you all to tell you how the money is being spent and how the children are benefiting from such incredible kindness.
A special THANK YOU has to go to the school children of Khartoum International School who we met when we were in Sudan....they have managed to raise an amazing £180 from organising a 'bake sale' at the school. This really is a tremendous achievement - well done and thank you to all the students, teachers, parents and to Robyn Fox ,who initiated our visit to KICS, for making, selling and buying such pricey cakes! We are certain that the charities of the world would instantly hire the talented kids of KICs as their chief fundraisers.
