My 25th Birthday!!!!!!
Had a really lovely day today. Before setting off out Amy gave me two gifts and a card which I really wasn't expecting at all and it felt really special as I know that we'e both on a budget, so it really meant alot. Amy had bought me a beautiful badge of a maple leaf - which I have started to collect badges - and also a gorgeous wooden bookmark with the Inukshuk symbol on - I had picked one of these up so many times, but never actually bought one! What really touched me was that she'd managed to get a message from everone back home and write it in a lovely card. I got pretty emotional - it was such a thoughtful thing to do! Amy made it a really special day, so want to thank you - even though you got a big hug from me this morning!:)
Headed off to the Royal Ontario Museum where we saw so much, I was amazed at just how much of a wide and varied collection they had. We saw the Terracotta Army which was amazing, as its such a famous exhibition. We were really lucky to have caught it here in Toronto. I didn't really know much about the history behind it, but found out that the very first Emperor of China had built an entire army of 8000 terracotta statues, garden, acrobats and a huge cyrpt for his burial. The exhibition was smaller than I imagined it to be, but has made me want to visit China even more so now!
There was so much more to see and we spent around five hours in there intotal and still didn't get to see everything. I was extremely impressed!
We then headed a restaurant where both meals were amazing!
All in all I had an enjoyable day today!
