Kells travels
I was abit sad didn't have longer in the cool underground town... but hey all good things must come to an end!! So today was just as bad as yesterday in that we drove for hours on end. The highlight of today was we were finally going to see Ayers rock, we were aiming to make it in time for sunset & we made it yey. I have to say this rock is HUGE so much bigger than I ever expected. When u first see it your abit surprised at how dull the colour of the rock is then when the sun hits it WOW it just totally glows. We had champagne & nibbles whilst watching the sunset whic was nice then it was off to camp. Tonight we had to sleep in swags which are like a very stiff sleeping bags with a matress within & you put your sleeping bag inside & zip yourself in. Some people were sleeping outside as the stars in Oz are amazing to see & there are shooting stars all the time, me being a wimp & seeing one of the biggest spiders ever today decided I'd be best off in a tent ha ha. So anyways I still had to sleep witin this swag which was the most awful thing ever, I felt like I was in a coffin & kept freaking out where the bloody thing was so heavy & stiff!! It was an early start in the morning so we got to see sunrise which was major cold, again it amazes me how such a dull looking rock just glows when the suns shines on it. After the sun was out shining I did the half base walk around the rock, there is the option to climb but the Aboriginal people ask you don't so I went by their beliefs & didn't climb. After lunch we drove to Kata Tjuta & walked round Walpa Gorge before heading to a nights stay in Kings Canyon.
