We were met at the train station by another Gecko's guide Richard, who seemed to have his head much better screwed on than Tina! He got us all back to our hotel and informed us that we would see our leader and the rest of the group the next day. The weather was miserable in Xi'an. Some of us went to the Drum Tower, and then we walked part of the city wall. Normally you can cycle around the wall but because it was so wet they weren't hiring out bikes. Went to see a Mosque and browsed around the Muslim quarters for a while. Another great place to buy gifts.

That evening all nine of us returned to the Muslim quarters and went for a group meal. Great fun trying to order food for ourselves with no guide and no English speaking waiters. Made great use out of our phrase book and ate lots of dumplings! After that we all went out for a few much needed drinks together. When everyone else went home we ventured to a late night bar where I sang pop songs with the locals! Celine Dion is taken very seriously here!!
