Nullarbor Day! We woke up in Kalgoorlie with the Nullarbor Highway on the horizon, but not before we made a fast stop in town for some supplies as they would be limited or expensive on the Nullarbor. After we left the store we loaded up our camper Icy or Grandma. That's when the scary stuff started, a guy was trying to break the window of a car directly in front of us in broad daylight. We should have taken a video but instead headed to the Police station one block away. They seemed indifferent to the problem and the jerk managed to break the window and steal whatever he was looking at. And with that bad experience we turned south towards the Nullarbor.
An hour and a half later we were turning left in Norseman onto the Nullarbor Highway! Many warning signs warned of the wildlife crossing the road and buy the looks of it they aren't very good at it. It is day 6 in Australia and we still haven't seen a live Kangaroo. Hour and a half later we turned into our camp for the night on the Frazier Range.
This was a cool place off the road and in a somewhat valley. We got the pick of places to camp and after setting up realized that we have once again placed the camper door side into the afternoon sun. You would think that after day 4 we would have really picked up on this. Today was also a red letter day as our cassette was full and no it wasn't a music cassette.
The cassette is what the toilet empties into. Joy and I vowed not to do anything really bad into it only night time problems as the campgrounds have proper toilets. I learned to not let the cassette get full but only 80%. I had asked a seasoned camper how to dump the thing and he was more than willing to help but kinda just laughed as I struggled with this smelly, leaky, heavy cassette. I had brought some big gloves with me so I was limited to how much I got on me but the plants around the dump point got a good watering.
With our cassette empty and our fuel tank full we headed out. The long straight Nullarbor was pretty much void of traffic. Most all campers heading the other way wave and the long road trains keep you sharp when they blow by you. We stamped at an interesting place where Skylab had crash landed back in 1979. A small bit was still the or it could have been a piece from a Kenworth truck??
Two more stops one for lunch and another for fuel we are now in a Roadhouse/Town called Madura. Everybody here seems transient and are asking about our new President. We try to avoid answering that question as we don't need to be questioned about our countries affairs when even here there is scandal going on the news every night. Hopefully we'll have a great dinner and beer before retiring to bed with our camper facing away from the sun this evening!

Northcoasters So. The moral of this story is "less is best". Atleast for the cassette maintenance crew.
Not My Fault It seems like it was a long day for you guys. Adventure is something I am looking forward too. Love to explore the beaches and join you on camping. I never did that before but it's always on my mind. I think one day it will happen. You inspired me with your post, thank you for sharing your story. - https://www.notmyfault.com.au/
