It's been a busy vacation, finding time to do this blog after driving or hiking or walking the town setting up camp can be trying at times. Now in the final hours with Pixie and in Australia. 8000 miles we have traveled since leaving Darwin.
Across the Kimberly thunder and lightning at night in the valleys kept us awake and entertained. Down the Goldfields Highway massive Roadtrains whipping up the wet roadways turning Pixie from white to red. Across the Nullabor a tail wind causing us a 11.5 kms to the liter and loosing our door to it. (7.5 normal kms to liter)
Stopping in Kimba for some Real Indian food. Crabbing in Port Wakefield and Australia Day celebrations and a $122 winner at Mount Murray! The fire ravaged Kangaroo Island and its sad but mad residents. And a quick stop in Adelaide to repair our door. Up to Hahndorf for some German food? Nope we ate at the Indian restaurant what were we thinking?
Hammer down through Outback to get to Lighting Ridge for a little R&R in it's Hot Artisian Pools and a drink in one of the most Australian Pub's we have ever been in,but what happened to out TV antenna? Not again! Off to Dubbo to get Pixie fixed up again. Back rolling we head to The Great Ocean Road and yes it was. Snaking along the coast we saw the Ocean 100 times in one day but wait we can't stay here! The wind had us held captive in Pixie.
Again straight back to Adelaide for the Fringe Festival. Some shows good some not so much. City life not our style but here we are the end. Melbourne a city, so many people so unlike the Outback. The cars here are clean no red dirt no dust no people waving at you.
Our time nears an end, no more grass fed Australia steaks, no more Tuesday chicken shinitzel specials, no more bumping into each other in Pixie. No more setting up camp, no more laundry rooms for now. Soon we'll be home, our own laundry our own beds. Room to pass each other no more flip flops. Tomorrow we put our left overs and extras in the glam bin at the campground. Our fan, our kettle, our fake grass mats and our salt and pepper gone. We board a plane and fly far,far away from here. We leave behind new friends, new memories and Pixie. Melancholy, missing everything already but it's time to get back to work, so Australia till next time G'Day mate!

North coasters Really nice summary of your adventure. Thanks for taking us along! Did you tell Pixie no worries, she will have nice caretakers on her next adventure. Surely they won’t take as good care of her. But she probably won’t have to go as far. Look on the good side $1.50 full strength brews. Fuel at $2.50 per GALLON. And 👋 G’day mates!
