After a bit of a hiatus I and going to try and get my blog going again. Joy and I have traveled back in time, well figuratively as we are back in Australia. No there are no fire anywhere near us as a matter of fact it flooding here in the Northern Territory. There are two Cyclones around and we are in between them.
No worries as the Austrians say, we are in the far north heading south with three options. We head west and chance cyclone Blake has washed out the road. Head east that puts us in the burn area in a few weeks or head south which is pretty safe but leaves a big hole in our trip in a couple of weeks when we hit the bottom. We have a couple more days to decide.
The past couple of days had us exploring Darwin and the attack on Darwin on February 19th 1942 by the Japanese which included some of the same planes that attacked Pearl Harbour. Actually more planes attacked Darwin then Hawaii. We had some good food and beer but the city doesn’t bode as well as rural Australia.
So with keeping with our RV Australia lifestyle we picked up the prize of the fleet. “Pixie” is a 26 foot RV with a slide out. Sounds great except my bed is at a 45 degree angle unless we are stopped and have the engine off. Two things wrong with that. First engine off no a/c until we get the electric hooked up again no biggie but having the engine a/c and the house a/c going Cools the RV down quick. So Joy and I have not worked out a system yet on how to get that done, but it’s only night two.
Here’s a kicker we come. Here because it’s quiet, but dam there’s nobody anywhere. We stopped at a bird watching platform and rode our bikes in only to wake all of the Cockatoo’s resting around the platform they where not impressed with our arrival. Same thing happened at the gas station when we startled the attendant then the front desk at the campground. Hope this continues for another day or two but after that might need some other human contact besides Joy.
We did mange a Crocodile Jumping tour that include some kite tail hawks.it was nearly a 100 degrees all day and we ended it with a dip in the pool and a bbq steak.Hoping the excitement picks up for anybody reading this’s enjoyment.

North coasters Well on your way. I guess as they say it’s not the goal it’s the journey. To find folks to socialize with you may have to do some small cities. Sounds like the Caravanning folks are back home dealing with the fires. Whatever you choose travel well and safely. You could always FaceTime us at 1:59am to get even. Again sorry mate
Debi Scott Look forward to your updates on direction you’ll head and any life you come across in the coming days.
