ANd why did we come home? You know once I get that I have to go home I kind of crave it. Wanting my own bed,my own washer and dryer not watching how many clothes I wear and driving my pick up truck, nobody cuts me off when I'm in it like my big truck.
Well after arriving back in the good old USA, Los Angeles to be exact we walked around Long Beach again listening to the Super Bowl play out in stereo as all of the Bars had on the same channel.Since we were on West Coast time we had not thought about the game being played during daylight hours. We ate and watched the game and still had daylight left over. Next morning we packed once again and caught the Catalina Express Ferry. I had invisoned Catalina as this small little island coming out of the haze we saw quite a big island with a small town (Avalon) situated in a small valley. I finally laid eyes on the "Casino" which I thought was a casino but was a theater figures California would have to be different. We threw our things in our beach front hotel and hit the ground running.
We discovered the Theater/dance hall had a tour which we signed up for and where almost on the tour by ourselves but to people showed up to end that ten minutes after the tour started and they asked questions that had already been explained.I believe that anybody showing up late to anything should not be let in! That included movies, theater shows whatever why doo the rest of us need to be bothered? Anyway my complaining done we got the low down on Mr. Wrigley's Casino and his investment of 2 million dollars to buy Catalina Island. The Theater was pretty cool as you could talk in a normal voice and a person 200 feet away could understand every word, how this works when 500 people are in the hall I don't know. With low season Catalina was a ghost town, well at least until Carnival Paradise showed up the next morning. Then 2000 of our closest friends showed up. Funny we felt as they were tresspassing on our turf but we learned to get along.
Well we were only staying till 3:30 pm anyway when our Express Ferry showed up to shuttle us back for our final hotel of our vacation, a Baymont. Less I say what a terrible ending. The room was cramped, dated and noisy from now on we stay at a great place for the last night I promise you that. Packing the next morning we discussed if our driveway was cleared (yes thank you neighbor) and what we would do first. First get all of our trucks to start or pulled out of the snow and then plan our next getaway as this stinks. Why I ever stepped off the Manu A Ku three weeks ago I will never know? Was there a rush to get back?Nope. I just checked our point level, bingo 580,000 only need 540,000 for around the World sign us up! And with that in mind I have many miles to be driven and dozens of horses to be chauffeured it's a long way to vacation 2012. And to all of the poor souls who ride along with me sorry in advance of the moaning I will be doing and my countdown until vacation only 336 days until then. Thanks for reading along I enjoy writing these blogs.
