We flew into Melbourne from Sydney on Friday morning for the Grand Prix weekend. The flight took about and hour and a quarter. We dropped our bags off at the hotel, which wasn't up to our usual standard, and then headed off to the track to watch the practice session. We have really good seats beside the start/finish line and accoss from the pits. There was F3, Porsche, Utes and a BMW celebrity race as well as F1. On Saturday it was more of the same but with the qualifying heat for the F1 there was loads more spectators there. Great that the McLarens were starting 2nd and 4th on the grid. There was a lot going on to keep you interested, helicopter displays, a jet fighter flying over and am aeronautical display team doing stunts. On Saturday night we went to Chinatown for a meal and I'm surprised we didn't suffer any after effects. Then it was the big day, Sunday. There were quite a few celebrities there, Greg Norman the golfer, Shayne Warne the cricketer and Kylie who came out to meet all the drivers so we have some photographs of her. And then the race was on, the Ferrari with Raikkonen in led from start to finish but the McLarens finished 2nd and 3rd. It was a great result for Lewis Hamilton who was driving in his first F1 race and came 3rd.
