Short stop in Hué (Hway)
We didn't want to be stuck in Hué over Têt so we only stayed the night. After a 14 hour sleeper bus we were all pretty tired but as we couldn't check in till 12pm we decided to explore what Hué had to offer. It was a really hot morning but we strolled around the Old Quarter and visited the Citadel. The entrance fee was 80,000 dong and you could walk around the grounds where once only royalty was only allowed. A lot was being rebuilt after the war destroyed parts. A video gave us a brief history of the forbidden palace and what the areas housed it was built in the mid 1800s.
Our evening stroll meant we got to see the bridge lit up but the market didn't sell anything that interested us! I saw a huge rat yuk!
Most of the stuff to do in Hué could be easily explored by mopeds (tombs, beach and pagoda) but we used our time to rest as we were catching the 8am bus to Hoi An the next morning.
