Sunday
Today we moved to the beach! We woke up and packed and Kuya Nonong and Ate Fay picked us up with all are stuff and we drove to Redondo beach which is next to Hermosa beach.
Like all trips first stop was lunch. Another delicious experience as we went to a fresh seafood stall where they had loads of different seafood. Huge crabs you bashed open with a hammer seemed to be their speciality. I wish I was hungrier at the time as there was so much good food but we weren't so Neil and I got a portion of fresh calamari which was fried in front of us so yummy and crispy and a huge diet coke. Ate Fay bought a chicken that we all shared.
On the beach we made a sandcastle using the empty coke cup. Took a couple of attempts but it stayed up and I was proud of our castle.
Redondo Beach is in a fishing town with bars and restaurants and a pier. Lots to do but the beach was smaller than Santa Monica or Venice. A lovely hot day and we got bought a churro.
Ate Fay & Kuya Nonong have been the best tours and so grateful to have them here. They dropped us off at our new hostel in Venice Beach. This hostel wasn't as nice as the last. Best thing about it was the location which was a street away from the beach front and in the centre of all the fun. After a slightly hungover but lovely day all we wanted was home comforts so weren't impressed with the s*** wifi connection and smoking in the common room. On the plus all the staff and guests seemed really social and helpful. We managed to get all are dirty clothes washed and dried. We went to Mao's Kitchen across the road for dinner and ordered rice, shrimp & spinach dumplings, chicken wontons and a spring roll to share. The stamed dumpling were so good but the pastry on the spring rolls and wontons were so thick for oriental cuisine. No Norma spring rolls! Obviously a creature of comfort and mums cooking 90% of our meals have been oriental ha! I think we made a bit of a dry choice of dishes as the soups and curries looked more appetising! I also made a school boy error by dipping my vegetable spring roll straight into a pot of wasabi without checking it first and nearly choked to death as it nearly blew my head off!
We ended the night walking along the beach watching the skate kids and watching the sun go down Beauts!

Keisuke Dear P.,Sorry I have not been entertaining! I'm rellay glad you are reading. I was a little pressed for time on the last posting. But let me tell you there is always something interesting happening at the Argosy. We just had Turkey Rod Run and all these buildings built in 1953 were remembering the way it was when they were new. The antique cars just took them back in time. We have pics of when the motel was new. We'll be posting it as soon as we can. The Argosy looked just like those old pics just days ago during the Thanksgiving Holiday. The whole town was full of old cars and people that love them. It was great!Sincerely,Sharon, one half of the beach bums
