Emerging into a new city at sunrise is something's that has become a norm in the last two months, yet it never gets old. A new place appearing from the darkness. Especially in Nha Trang, where the beaches and surrounding streets are filled with people exercising at before six am. Young and old. Agile and not.
Hostel found, we spent our first day in Nha Trang at the mineral mud baths. Thap Ba Hot Springs and Mud baths charge as little as a few pounds to wade around in the mud, laze in the mineral pool and swim in the heated swimming pools and cooler waterfall. Blissful.
The second day was spent at the beach and to quote my Facebook status, 'Hot weather, golden beaches and blue skies. It'd be quite nice if it wasn't for the Vietnamese man pissing in the sea from the edge of the sand!"
Our third day was spent at Vinpearl, an arcade, theme park, water park and aquarium all in one. On its own private island, accessible by either boat, or as we chose, a 4km cable car from the shores of Nha Trang. I'm not sure what was scarier - the rides of Vinpearl's abysmal safety record, but it was a great and affordable day out. The highlight has got to be the huge arcade with pretty much every game imaginable, all included in the initial ticket price!
As our bus didn't depart until eight pm, we had a good few hours to explore Nha Trang by scooter (or as they're known in Vietnam, motorbikes). We tried to find another aquarium, but to no avail - despite been in the exact location on the map. Afterwards, we visited the ... Our last stops before giving the scooter back was to buy some shampoo and get some lunch. We ate at the 'Why not bar', or as I'd like to rephrase it, the why would you bar!
Our penultimate stop done, in 10 hours, we'll be in mayhem of Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh City.
